A Framework for Risk & Safety Management in Syrian Construction Projects using Building Information Modeling. Case Study: MEP Works for Jableh Post Office Building
This study aims to propose a framework for linking the timeline of a construction project with security and safety procedures and taking proactive measures in the design and planning stages in the early stages of project to reduce risks of construction projects in Syria, by studying the current status of risk management for construction projects in Syria, determine the awareness level of security and safety risks importance, and propose practical steps to link the project timeline with security and safety procedures.
The study community consists of representatives of contracting companies, consultation offices, real estate owners, and engineering and technical education institutions in the construction sector in Syria, who are responsible for the study, design, implementation, and supervision of construction projects. The questionnaire was distributed electronically using the Google Forms services, and 48 answers were obtained from a random research sample distributed throughout Syria. The statistical analysis program SPSS was used to analyze and process the data. Descriptive frequency tables with percentages were used, and the validity and reliability of the questionnaire were tested. Likewise, the risk management of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works (MEP) was studied for a case study, which is Jableh Post Office Building Project, using the Synchro software as one of BIM technology tools, after identifying the most important occupational health and safety risks for these works using the Hierarchy of Controls (HOC) method.
The study concluded the importance of using BIM technology in risk management, which greatly helped to overcome security and safety incidents by making adjustments to the proposed project timeline at the design stage, which led to improving the safety and productivity of the project as well as reducing project costs by avoiding risks in the project at an early stage of its life cycle. On the other hand, the study showed weak interest in risk management at the organizational level of institutions, despite individual awareness of the importance of these risks. This was represented by the weak application of risk management techniques in projects, the lack of benefit from experiences of previous projects, as well as the mediocre documentation of work accidents and the mediocre use of personal protective equipment.
The study concluded by presenting a set of recommendations, which is enhancing and raising the degree of awareness of the importance of occupational health and safety risks management in construction projects at senior management levels, and the necessity of linking it with the project timeline in the early stages of the project life cycle, in addition to recommending the establishment of a risk management department to follow up risks in Projects. It is also necessary to utilize building information modeling technology to help link the risk plan with project activities to improve the quality, safety and productivity of the project, as well as avoid risks in projects, reduce costs and have greater project control.

Adopting the Digital Transformation in BIM Implementation in Syrian Regulatory
Government Agencies
Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a promising technology in the advanced engineering, architectural, and construction (AEC) sector. However, the integrated potential of BIM has not yet been fully utilized to enable this field. This may be due to some of the obstacles that still need to be overcome by BIM in both the technological and administrative perspectives. The inclusion of this science in all stages and requirements of the project has an impact on technological development and the digital transformation in the Syrian Arab Republic.
A critical point that has influenced the seriousness of implementing BIM in Syria is the adoption of BIM policy by governments within state institutions concerned with the construction sector by integrating its technologies into the procedures of the licensing system. This is to develop the electronic government and electronic services of Syria.
This was done through studies of successful global experiences in this field and documentation of some Arab experiences that can be used for digital transformation. The reality of licensing procedures in the Syrian Arab sector was documented to start from it to reach realistic solutions and procedures that are applicable through following the approach of business process reengineering (BPR). An electronic licensing system has been reached that is being developed in three gradual phases with integration of BIM requirements for integrated application and the use of BIM system tools using MODELCHECKER, the inclusion of required submission standards, and the preparation of project file requirements and the submission of licensing service according to BIM. The maturity of the licensing system depends on the submission of BIMMODEL to meet the requirements of intelligent building systems (DB).

Classification of Gray Water Systems in Syria
Water scarcity is a major problem in many areas in Syria, as Syria is considered one of the countries facing serious water challenges. This greatly affects the lives of the people, the country's economy, and securing the necessary needs for irrigation water in many areas.
One of the solutions to mitigate the water shortage problem is the reuse of treated gray water. Many systems for grey water treatment have emerged worldwide, but due to the variety of these systems, we face a challenge in selecting the most efficient system to be used in each region.
Therefore, the aim of this research was to classify greywater treatment systems that can be used in Syria according to their treatment methods (physical, chemical, or biological). mentioning the characteristics, advantages, and disadvantages of each system, and then creating a comparative matrix for these systems based on specific criteria, including cost, the quality of treated water, experience, availability, and considering the environmental impact of each system within this classification, and the feasibility of using building information modeling (BIM) in the design and analysis of these systems. Taking into account previous studies and expert opinions in this field. In order to select the most effective and sustainable graywater system for use in Syria, for each project according to our needs.
The granular filtration system emerged as one of the most efficient physical treatment methods for greywater treatment in Syria, followed by vertical flow bioreactor, as a good biological treatment system.
Additionally, BIM technology can facilitate the design, implementation, operation, and classification of green building systems, including greywater systems. However, it is important to determine the feasibility of using BIM technology and assess how much modeling can enhance the performance of these systems, particularly in more complex systems. Therefore, BIM was introduced as a criterion to evaluate and classify these systems in the assessment matrix.

Proposal for temporary safety facilities for fall protection using 4DBIM to meet OSHA standards
Temporary Safety Facilities (TSFs) are an essential support system that provides the necessary protection to workers during construction activities, which aims to prevent accidents on the construction site; However, the schedule and location of installation and dismantling of technical support facilities is still based on work experience, and is often omitted from official drawings or documents. This leads to thousands of accidents in the construction industry, especially in small and medium-sized construction companies due to many limiting factors; Therefore, this study proposes automatic workspace planning for temporary safety facilities (in our case guardrails for fall protection) based on construction activities, which is a structured approach for SMEs working in construction to practice Occupational Health and Safety (OHSA). Using Building Information Modeling (BIM) safety facilities can be simulated and visualized to be integrated into the designated work space. The developed system was implemented using 4D-BIM to install temporary safety facilities (railings for fall protection) and was validated through a case study of a mall project.
The result revealed that integrating temporary safety facilities with the model provides a better understanding of safety measures during project implementation.
Additionally, temporary facility workspace planning provides an affordable approach that stimulates safety practices; Thus, significantly enhancing the management effectiveness of construction safety measures.

Ability of Using BIM with Agile approach in construction project in Syria
Agile is relatively a new concept of applying Agile project management in the construction industry, noting a lack of sufficient evidence to support its potential benefits. It mentions the increasing use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in construction projects, acknowledging its proven ability to enhance industry performance with significant advantages for multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle. However, attempts to integrate Agile management with BIM are described as modest and not meeting expected usage levels.
The study explores the possibility of combining BIM with Agile methodologies in Syrian construction projects, aiming to understand the industry's current awareness and readiness to adopt these methods and how their integration could improve project performance and success rates.
The research conduct quantitative methods, including surveys, to validate hypotheses about the implementation of these innovative methodologies. The results indicate that the application of Agile approaches in Syria's construction and building industry is almost non-existent, while the study demonstrates that Agile factors can enhance the efficiency of construction projects using BIM.

Integration of Building Information Modeling and Project Management Process
This research delves into the integration of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and project management within the construction industry, a critical area for enhancing project efficiency and effectiveness. Adopting a mixed-methods research approach, the study encompasses a comprehensive literature review, surveys with construction professionals, and detailed case studies.
The literature review segment assesses global practices and specific challenges in BIM integration, focusing on studies from many regions. It reveals that while BIM offers substantial benefits in project management, such as improved design visualization, cost estimation, and risk management, its full potential is often untapped due to challenges like lack of stakeholder engagement, insufficient education in BIM, financial constraints, and technological barriers.
Empirical research through surveys provides direct insights from industry practitioners, confirming the literature findings and shedding light on real-world challenges and best practices. The case studies offer an in-depth look at the application of integrated BIM and project management, highlighting successful strategies and common pitfalls.
Key findings include the identification of critical challenges such as deficiencies in BIM regulations and standards, software interoperability issues, and the need for better collaboration and communication among stakeholders. The research emphasizes the importance of education, awareness, and effective management practices for overcoming these obstacles.
Conclusively, the study underscores the necessity for a strategic approach in integrating BIM with project management. It advocates for updated educational curricula, government involvement in promoting BIM adoption, and the development of best practices and strategies for successful integration. These efforts are pivotal for realizing the full potential of BIM in enhancing the efficiency, quality, and sustainability of construction projects.

Integration of Building Information Modeling and Project Management Process
Study risk management status within BIM projects in Syria
This study aimed to evaluate the current state of risk management within Building Information Modeling (BIM) projects in Syria. To achieve this goal, a comprehensive review of previous theoretical research on BIM, risk management, and relevant studies was conducted. Based on these findings and diverse perspectives on risk management, a questionnaire was developed to encompass all aspects of risk management processes. The survey was conducted among engineers, contractors, and companies utilizing BIM in their work and projects. The collected data was then analyzed using the SPSS software, enabling quantitative analysis and statistical measurements. The results highlighted several significant observations regarding the current practices of risk management in BIM projects in Syria. Based on these findings, this study provides suggestions and recommendations to enhance risk management strategies in BIM projects, ultimately improving project outcomes and reducing potential risks. What makes this research unique is its comprehensive approach that considers the perspectives of all stakeholders involved in construction projects and covers all aspects of risk management processes.
Repeating continuous assessments for each stage and process is considered a good starting point to improve the current and future situation, avoiding overlooked or inadequately studied areas. It is important to raise awareness and draw the attention of stakeholders to existing problems as a first step, followed by identifying, defining, and pinpointing the causes to find solutions.

Studying the possibility of apply the process of documenting Abdullah Farkouh Palace
Edifice buildings are one of the biggest indications of the identity of the country they represent with their different functions, especially the ancient heritage buildings, which are the entrance to the monumental architecture in the world. Syria is rich in many sites crowned by the most sacred heritage monuments, whose history is characterized by the depth of the roots of its civilization, so it must be preserved and the damaged ones must be restored using the latest technologies.
The use of modern technology applications and digital models in restoration has moved to advanced stages of creativity, as the state has recently taken the right path to restore a group of historical and heritage buildings in a new and modern way, and the modeling of heritage building information (HBIM) is one of the most prominent developments in the field of restoration in the last decade, where HBIM has been used in various stages of construction, restoration and maintenance of facilities, He helped manage the facility to handle a large amount of information, including drawings, specifications, lists and reports.
Heritage facilities in Syria are characterized by a special character that indicates the urban taste of architects in the time period in which these facilities were built, which is clearly shown by the different architectural models, although there are some similar general features in some of them, which are inherited as building patterns, where the Byzantine, Roman and Islamic character prevails greatly over most of the historical buildings in Syria from mosques, churches and palaces.
This research paper will discuss the restoration and renovation of Abdullah Farkouh Palace in Bustan Al-Diwan area in Homs Governorate during the past years after the war, and provide a methodology for obtaining knowledge during the implementation of maintenance operations for ancient heritage facilities using HBIM, extracting, processing and classifying data into design, operational and operational knowledge and reconnecting it to reach an integrated model directed to maintenance and loaded with all the design knowledge needed by the designer.

The Impact of Using BIM Technologies on the Efficiency of Scheduling and its Monitoring for a Residential Tower
Due to the problems that arise in construction projects designed using traditional methods, starting from the design phase and throughout the project lifecycle, such as inaccurate reporting of project stages and scheduling, resulting in delays in completing the work and increased costs, as well as an increase in the complexity of projects on a global level, there is a necessity for more advanced technologies that allow for better organization of engineering work across different disciplines and support every phase, from design to facility management, including design, investment, and maintenance. Additionally, there is a need for improving the project scheduling, reducing risks, and this is what Building Information Modeling (BIM) techniques provide us with. Traditional 3D models are known for their inability to accurately represent the construction stages, which is why in the scope of this research, we will present a practical example that demonstrates the evolution of project scheduling and highlights the importance of utilizing BIM modeling and information management techniques to achieve more accurate execution. This will be done by producing well-organized project schedules, and the practical application will showcase the tracking of the project timeline for a residential tower, illustrating the significant impact and difference that 4D BIM techniques offer when incorporated into the study and construction processes.

This research investigates the localization of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards within the unique socio-economic context of Syria. The study employs a multifaceted approach, incorporating survey responses from diverse stakeholders within the construction industry. The comprehensive analysis unfolds across several chapters, beginning with an introduction outlining the importance of LEED localization. The subsequent sections delve into the methodology, demographic analysis, and correlation studies, shedding light on the intricate relationships among key variables such as economic considerations, regulatory frameworks, and capacity building.
Chapter five presents an in-depth discussion of survey results, providing insights into the perspectives, attitudes, and concerns of professionals in Syria's construction industry. Noteworthy findings include a positive attitude towards LEED localization, coupled with acknowledged challenges in adaptation. Economic considerations, regulatory frameworks, and capacity building emerge as focal points, each intricately interwoven.
The subsequent chapter outlines recommendations for policymakers, industry stakeholders, and educational institutions. These recommendations span policy and regulatory reforms, capacity building initiatives, economic incentives, community engagement, and international collaboration. Emphasizing a holistic and synergistic approach, the proposed strategies aim to facilitate the successful integration of LEED standards into Syria's construction landscape.

Implementing Building Information Modeling (BIM) in Sustainable Urban Design
This study constitutes a comprehensive exploration of the application of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology in the design of sustainable cities. The dissertation focuses on various critical aspects, beginning with the overall framework of the study, where the project introduction, rationale for selecting the topic, problem identification, and the significance of the study are reviewed. The dissertation also addresses the second chapter, presenting the concept of Building Information Modeling (BIM). This includes defining BIM, its history, benefits, applications, and its multidimensional aspects.
Subsequent chapters discuss the concept of sustainable cities and their objectives, with an emphasis on green buildings and the use of technology in designing sustainable cities. The sustainable project stages and the utilization of sustainable building materials are highlighted. The dissertation underscores the importance of applying BIM technology in designing sustainable cities, with a focus on improving energy consumption, air quality, and the environment. Chapter five delves into the obstacles and challenges that may be encountered in implementing this technology and how to enhance interaction and collaboration among stakeholders in designing sustainable cities. The dissertation also provides a comparative analysis between Masdar City and Maruta City, outlining the characteristics of each city and the impact of BIM technology on their planning and design.
In conclusion, the results are summarized, and recommendations are presented to enhance the application of BIM technology in the design of sustainable cities, emphasizing the importance of interaction and collaboration to achieve sustainability goals.

Proposal for a Project Management Office "PMO" in the Public Establishment of Housing in Syria
This study highlighted the importance of applying modern project management methodologies in Syria in order to keep pace with the global market, especially through adopting Project Management Offices (PMO) in its construction industry as (PMO) is the ideal approach in managing projects efficiently and successfully.
The Public Establishment of Housing in Syria has been selected as a case study because of the importance of the housing sector in Syria, which was affected by the Syrian crisis and the recent earthquake, which led to an increase in the demand for housing.
A framework has been proposed and developed for PMO implementation and operation in the Public Establishment of Housing in Syria. This proposed Project Management Office aims to improve the reality of its project management by ensuring that these projects are completed in a timely manner, within budget limits, and to the required quality standards.
The methodology used in this research included two axes: the first is a study of the literature for a deep understanding of PMO, and the second is interviews with housing organization employees to identify current practices in project management in the organization and what problems they suffer from, and then suggest the appropriate type of project management office for it.

THE INTEGRATION OF VIRTUAL DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION (VDC) WITH THE FOURTH DIMENSION OF BUILDING INFORMATION MODELING (4D BIM)
The aim of the research is to shed light on the relationship between the concepts of Virtual design and construction (VDC) and building information modeling (BIM), and in particular to identify and evaluate the potential benefits of using a methodology based on the integration of the fourth dimension of (4D BIM) with virtual design and construction (VDC) and its impact on the preparation of the schedule and project planning and construction simulation. The research reviews a case study of "Pharmacists Syndicate building - Tartous branch", the building model (3D BIM) was created in Autodesk Revit 2020 ®, then the model clash was detected, reviewed and resolved, and the quantities were calculated on the Autodesk Navisworks Manage 2020 ® program, and the time periods for each activity were estimated according to the quantities, workshop performance rates and teams.
The results showed the importance of (4D BIM) and the use of software in accurate modeling of all building elements and solving design problems before construction, which in turn has a significant impact on reducing time and cost of the project implementation.

Modeling Existing Buildings and Effects of Applying BIM on Facility Management
This study aims to explore the value of BIM and the challenges affecting its application in facility management, as well as modeling and create an interface for existing building to efficiently address the information required to manage existing buildings and challenges to maintain a continuous data update. The research methodology is based on descriptive method.
The research suggested a BIM model for an existing building and its transition from CAD to BIM, including all asset’s information needed for maintenance and operation processes in a digital format that helps facilitate the process of transferring and updating information to a 3D environment. The research developed an interface which act as a bridge between the various tools used to update, edit and link data from and to the BIM model. Also, can be used by non -specialist maintenance teams by linking in-form maintenance schedules with Excel data and digitally reviewing and controlling assets on the cloud-based Autodesk Tandem platform to visual display, update and manage data, with easy navigate and controlled access for all teams, and finally to achieve an effective BIM model that serves and improves facility management and can be updated during the building's life cycle.

Managing Risks Based Scrum/Kanban Methodologies In Syrian Construction Industry
Construction project risk management is one of the managements that receives huge attention in the world. As the success of any project is closely related to the effectiveness of risk management. However, in terms of the construction industry in Syria, there are clear shortcomings and gaps in risk management. So to assess the actual reality of the Syrian construction industry with all its details (project management methodologies - software - risk management methodologies - new technology), this study relied on the descriptive analysis method of data collected through a questionnaire, where the questionnaire was directed Syrian project management professional engineers over the entire area of the Syrian Arab country.
The novelty of this research comes from the fact that it provides a framework for managing the risks of construction projects in Syria with a methodology that combines the strengths of Scrum methodology and the strengths of Kanban methodology.
The importance of this study stems from the fact that the proposed risk management framework can be linked in an integrated manner to the development approach of project management, whether predictive or adaptive.

The effectiveness of using Building Information Modeling technology in improving construction site planning based on the design thinking methodology (case study)
This research aims to study the effectiveness of BIM technology in improving construction site planning using a Design Thinking methodology that focuses on those involved. The researcher used the descriptive approach to study the benefits of using BIM technology in site planning and used the personal interview tool to obtain information that serves to complete the application of the Design Thinking methodology, and also used the experimental approach to apply the Design Thinking methodology to an engineering company.
The results of this research show the most important requirements of clients and workers on the site and the most important problems that lead to Failure to meet those requirements through the personal interviews, and show that BIM technology is an effective solution for reducing problems caused by poor site planning through the application of the Design Thinking methodology.
It reduced cost and time overruns, quality degradation, and risk reduction on-site through its capabilities in detecting spatial conflicts and expected risks, clear visualization and realistic simulation of all aspects of the site, accurate estimation of quantities, effective resource planning, dynamic nature to keep up with changes, and involving contractors in early stages of project planning so they can identify workspace conflicts.

The aim of the research is to assess the societal role of engineering work in the management of natural disasters such as earthquakes, identify the strengths and weaknesses of disaster management strategies, as well as to identify further improvements and technical innovations to improve the ability of communities to adapt to the conditions of seismic disasters, and also contribute to the development of more effective relief plans.
Among the most prominent findings of the research are the clarity of the societal role of engineering work in responding to the disaster after the earthquake of February 6, 2023 in the Syrian city of Jableh, the importance of the government's role in responding to the crisis, the need to improve seismic studies of facilities and the weak availability of modern technology techniques that improve the response to earthquakes.
At the end of the research, some suggestions and recommendations were reached that could be adopted to enhance the role of engineering work in the management of disasters caused by earthquakes, such as the need to find a coordination mechanism for disaster response, integrating Geographic Information Systems with building information modeling, developing reconstruction plans, maintaining environmental sustainability, and developing unified models for collecting basic information.

Measuring the maturity of building information modeling in Syrian higher education institutions and propose a framework to developing their performance
Although the adoption of Building Information Modeling (BIM) is widely used all over the world, but it’s considered a new philosophy in Syria, and only a few educational institutions apply it, in varying proportions without planning, Therefore, it was important to academic publishing for BIM models to train new professionals who will implement BIM in the architecture, construction and operation sector (AECO), this study aims to measure the maturity of BIM in higher education institutions in Syria and propose a framework to insert it into curricula, in preparation for preparing a well-trained generation of engineers who can lead the digital transformation process.
The research methodology is based on measuring maturity using a maturity measurement tool for higher education institutions (BIM maturity matrix), in addition to conducting several interviews with stakeholders and distributing questionnaires electronically, The research included 8 universities comprising 13 engineering colleges.

Study of pre-cooling buildings using solar photovoltaic energy - (The case of the Engineers Syndicate branch building in Lattakia)
This study presents pre-cooling technology using a solar photovoltaic energy system, the Engineers Association Branch in Latakia was conducted as a case study. This study may be considered the first of its kind in Syria. The results showed that pre-cooling using the solar photovoltaic system led to a significant decrease in the cooling demand during working hours, and in daily consumption from the electric network, as the demand was decreased from 85 kWh to 21,250 kWh. Besides, the value of the electricity bills was decreased by 83%. In addition, pre-cooling lowered the solar energy system capacity that was needed to operate the building's air conditioning equipment by 50%. Also, a reduction of 42.5 kg of CO2 emissions per day could be achieved using PV-pre-cooling system.

Studying the transformation of the glass facade of buildings into a renewable source of energy -The case of the Engineers Syndicate branch building in Lattakia
Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPVs) systems represent a new and promising technology to secure the increasing energy demand in buildings and to achieve zero energy and emissions buildings in the near future, offering an aesthetic, economical and technical solution to integrate photovoltaic solar cells into buildings. This research is regarded as the one of its kind in Syria, it discusses the possibility of replacing 74m² of south-facing traditional glass windows in the building of the Syndicate of Engineers branch in Latakia, with polycrystalline photovoltaic windows, which produces 160 watts / square meters. We found through this research that using this type of windows is able to produce 59.2 kilowatts, which is a sufficient amount to cover the total electrical load for lighting and operating office equipment in the building, thus reaching a zero-energy building over a period of 30 to 35 years.

This study aimed to identify the current reality of Building Information Modeling (BIM) education, identify the obstacles and challenges that prevent the application of (BIM), and propose a framework for introducing the concept of engineering digitization represented by Building Information Modeling (BIM) with the curricula at Tishreen University, Faculty of Civil Engineering. The study used the descriptive survey method, and to collect data, two questionnaires were developed, the first to measure the reality of building information modeling education, and the second is to assess the applicability of the proposed framework, it was applied to a sample of (32) members Of faculty members from all disciplines of the College of Civil Engineering, the study also used the IBM Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS v.25) program to analyze the results of the questionnaire .

Despite the importance of the issue of waste in construction projects, especially in Syria, we find a lack of relevant research. For this and to explore the most important factors causing waste in construction projects in Syria, this study was carried out, as it followed the descriptive analytical method to explore the most important factors through a literature review and semi-structured interviews, then data was collected through a questionnaire. this data was analyzed to come up with results that can be addressed in a logical order according to importance and frequency. These findings can be used by construction professionals to help achieve lean buildings.

This research discusses the effectiveness of applying BIM in the rehabilitation projects of public facilities in Syria after the war by increasing the accuracy of quantities’ estimation for these projects. The main results indicate that the application of BIM in Al-Ejref school rehabilitation project in Al Qunaitra governorate represents great potential in increasing the accuracy of quantity estimation, as the old methods are limited and have a large margin of error.

The purpose of this research is to propose a mechanism to measure and develop BIM maturity in Syria in general and to assess the level of maturity of our institutional BIM through the BIM3 maturity matrix in particular, which is done through the application of the maturity matrix, which is one of the most important models for measuring maturity around the world on a number of Syrian AEC companies In the private and public sectors, analyzing the performance of BIM in it, comparing the results and assessing the level of institutional maturity, and then conducting analyzes and comparisons based on these conclusions and making additional recommendations and proposals to develop the matrix in line with the practical reality in order to reach the optimal and integrated level for construction projects.

The necessary procedures to ensure the quality of the design and contractual phase in the construction sector in Syria within the building information modeling technology environment (Case study: The General Company for Engineering Studies in Damascus)
This research aims to improve the quality of design, and contracting phase of the State Company for Engineering Studies in Damascus’s projects, by examining the current reality of practices and methods in quality management during the designing stages and pointing out its weaknesses. Determining the factors affecting the quality of the contractual phase of the company, through a survey published online. Twenty-two engineers working in the company have responded.
It was estimated that the company's realities and the extent to which the employees understood the importance of quality. The proportion of projects with design errors were found to be between 10% and 39%. The proportion of projects with very large delays due to adjustments were 70% to 100%.

The aim of this research is to find a simple guide for project parties and workers in the field of infrastructure projects and to show its benefits, importance and use in this type of project, and to analyze five international projects that used BIM to find solutions both during design, implementation and operation, and to benefit from their experiences.
Although there are obstacles to the use of BIM practices, which are due to several reasons, the most important of which is the rarity of qualified personnel in this field, but the near future promises to use BIM systems on a large scale in infrastructure projects.

Preparing Time Schedule For The Institute Of Applied Arts Project In Syria Using BIM Technology
This study represents a concept based on BIM usage for construction projects to investigate the effects of BIM processes on planning and scheduling, a building consisting of a ground floor, 3typical floors, and two basements, was chosen as a case study, Structural and Architectural Models were provided from Autodesk Revit, which helped to prepare three execution scenarios and then picking the most suitable one, then a time schedule was prepared using Oracle Primavera, and Finally; linking this schedule with the above-mentioned models inside Autodesk Navisworks after demonstrating a clash detection, quantity surveying, and a simulation for the execution process according to the chosen scenario in the context of applying 4D BIM.
This Case study demonstrates how BIM allows the effective contribution of a 3D model that contains all required data for the planning and scheduling process that interests this study.

The importance of applying digital twin technology and its obstacles in engineering projects in Syria.
This study aims a variety of workers in the construction sector in Syria, with the aim of estimating the degree of awareness of workers in this sector with digital twin technology, the extent of their knowledge of it, how to apply it, and what are the most important obstacles to its use in engineering projects. To achieve this goal, the descriptive approach was adopted, and a questionnaire was designed, as it was distributed to the study sample, which amounted to 36 individuals with different levels of education and various engineering experiences, in which the five-point Likert scale was used, and the statistical program SPSS was used to analyze the results of the questionnaire quantitatively.
