General description
This course is concerned with the basic aspects of networking, providing an overview of OSI reference models, TCP/IP protocols, and concepts of data communication networks such as routing, switching, addressing, and networking issues. It is also concerned with common application protocols on the Internet
Learning Objectives:
At the end of this course the student will have been able to:
•Understand basic concepts in networks and TCP/IP protocols;
•The IPv4 logical addressing and networking;
•The concept of switching and routing and its protocols;
•Internet application protocols.
