General description
This course deals with the historical development of financial management and its concept, in addition to the main functions of the financial manager, the decisions he makes, and the extent to which the internal and external environment affects these decisions. The course also focuses on analyzing and evaluating the financial status of tourism establishments, their financial planning, and comparing the sources of financing available to the tourism establishment, evaluating investment decisions, analyzing working capital and net working capital, and how to calculate financial ratios that clarify the liquidity and profitability of the tourism establishment. The course also includes an in-depth study of the concept of the time value of money, and indicators for evaluating investment alternatives.

At the end of this course, the student will be able to:
- Define financial management, the stages it has gone through, and the most important elements affecting the managers financial decision.
- Identify the sources of financing available to the tourism establishment.
- Distinguish between the costs of each source of financing for the tourism establishment and choose the most appropriate financing structure.
- Analyze the financial statements of the tourism establishment.
- Anticipates the future value of current payments and the present value of future payments.
- Evaluates the investment options available to the tourism facility and chooses the optimal investment alternative according to approved quantitative indicators.
