General description
This course deals with the relationship between language and culture, and the requirements of teaching languages, especially the Arabic language, in the age of globalization. It stresses the relationship of cultural heritage, the Arabic language, religion, and other cultures, and highlighting it highlights the most important approaches of Arab thinkers and intellectuals in ancient and modern Arab culture. This course is also concerned with defining the mental and psychological basis of education and explaining the qualitative problems related to learning a foreign language. It is also concerned with clarifying the relationship between the culture of the target language and its teaching, and the amount of cultural knowledge that language education srequires, and the extent to which cultural connotations are exposed, directly or indirectly. The course also deals with the impact of learners’ motivations and attitudes towards the way cultural aspects are presented in language education.
