  • General description

    The course elaborates in detailed manner the concepts of water, air, soil, coastal and marine pollution, classifying the types of pollutants, their sources and their fates in different compartments of the environment, discusses the effects and risks of pollution on the environmental, economic, social and health aspects, explains the strategic environmental impact assessment system for development projects. Moreover, the course will extensively provide mechanisms for controlling industrial pollution, and most importantly clean production based on life-cycle analysis of raw materials and reduction of pollution from its sources, and waste management. Finally, the course will deal briefly with different water treatment technologies compatible with arid and rural environment.
