    The aim of the “Curriculum Planning in Medical Education and Current Trends” module is to develop the skills of the medical team in the field of medical curriculum planning, designs, and development of clinics and hospitals. The intended Learning outcomes: At the end of this module, students should be able to: • Define principles of medical education and domains of knowledge, skills and attitude required in medical education. • Define principles of outcome-based learning, competencies-based learning, meta- competencies and community-based learning. • Describe principles of curriculum implementation and methodology of analysis. • Describe new educational strategies in medical education. • Differentiate between learning in small and large group and learning in clinical setting. • Differentiate between educational aims, objectives, and purposes. • Evaluate the current situation of medical curricula and define future needs. • Define specifications of medical graduate in society and principles of student-centered learning and principles of teacher- centered learning. • Apply strategies and plan to reform curricula. • Develop strategies to improve clinical training in hospitals. • Develop higher learning skills such as outcome-based learning and problem based learning and help in developing decision making in appropriate time. • Develop evidence-based approach in clinical practice. • Apply concepts and professional criteria of medical education in clinical practice. • Develop new medical curricula and differentiate between new and traditional curricula. • Design curriculum mapping in clinical and professional training through implementation of evidence-based practice and clinical research. • Demonstrate respect to all different perspectives and opinions according to international standards and population needs. • Accept constructive criticism during curriculum planning and provide feedback to others. • Describe principles of teamwork and provide mechanisms for implementation of curriculum development and clinical training in clinical setting such as hospitals, theatres and clinics. • Lead change and provide conflict resolution in-group.
