General description
The goal of the course is to teach the students the basics of multimedia systems. In addition, the course aims at providing general concepts of using the multimedia data such as voice, image and video. At the end of the course student will acquire the following knowledge:
1- The different types of multimedia data used in multimedia systems
2- Several techniques of multimedia compressions; lossless and lossy compression.
3- Several standards of image, video and audio compression.
4- Some protocols of multimedia transmission or local and internet networks.
