Course description:
Course aim: This course aims to introduce students to the basics of public health, its principles and determinants, the concept of morbidity, and the principles of epidemiology.
Educational outcomes: Explore the profession and science of public health, the impact of social determinants of health, epidemiological and environmental factors, and structural factors that affect health, all within the local and global ecosystem.
Study the determinants of the occurrence and distribution of health and disease in a specific population.
Knowledge of the basic principles and methods of epidemiology including measures of disease (outcome), measures of association, study design, bias, confounding, influencing factors, and effect modification.
