  • General description

    This course falls under the title of (readings in environmental thoughts) and deals with new and important topics on sustainable development objectives 2030, the environmental issues and cultural of tourism and sustainable tourism, the global and regional environmental legal instruments and addressing conflicts on natural resources. Student would be able, after exhaustive reading of the specific papers, to interactively discuss with the lecturer and his/her fellows and develop his own thoughts on the issues and make use of his/her fellows ones to prepare an assignment to be presented at the end of the course. The course contains four chapters: 1- Sustainable Development goals 2030: Specific papers are provided to students in different languages to review it and prepare for the interactive discussion These papers address the theme of sustainable development goals 2030 and focus on the objectives that countries and peoples are working at to ensure the sustainability of resources. 2- Sustainable tourism and preservation of cultural heritage: Specific papers are provided to students in different languages to review it and prepare for the interactive discussion. These papers deal with one of the important topics that concern Syrian and Arab society, namely sustainable tourism and conservation of cultural natural heritage. 3- Regional and global legal instruments: Specific papers are provided to students in different languages to review it and prepare for the interactive discussion. Papers review the importance of global and regional legal instruments in the development of national legal instruments to conserve ecosystems and resources and conflicts resolution. 4- Natural resources conflict management: Introduction to concepts of natural resources as national capital and basis for conflict management at national and transboundary levels.
