  • General description

    This course falls under the title of (readings in environmental thoughts) and deals with new and important topics such as climate change and its impacts on food security, preserve natural heritage and national resources. Student would be able, after exhaustive reading of the specific papers, to interactively discuss with the lecturer and his/her fellows, and develop his own thoughts on the issues and make use of his/her fellows ones to prepare an assignment to be presented at the end of the course. The course contains three chapters: 1- Climate change and scarcity challenges & adaptation to climate change: Specific papers are provided to students in different languages to review it and prepare for the interactive discussion. Papers provide data and information on impacts of climate change focusing on scarcity of resources such as water and food and detailed exposure on global thoughts on adaptation to climate change making use of conservation of ecosystems and increase its resilience to ensure sustainability of natural resources. 2- Food Security: Specific papers are provided to students in different languages to review it and prepare for the interactive discussion. Papers tackle the issue of food security and needs to conserve ecosystems to ensure the sustainability of food security. 3- Water-Energy-Food nexus: Specific papers are provided to students in different languages to review it and prepare for the interactive discussion. Papers review the development of the water energy food nexus and elaborate on the interlinkages between its parts and how to ensure better balance between its parts.
