The course focuses on the general theory of international humanitarian law by addressing the following topics: - Defining the concept of international humanitarian law-its origin, development, basic principles, and sources. - Customary international humanitarian law. - Determining the legal nature of the rules of international humanitarian law, and distinguishing it from other similar laws such as international human rights law and criminal law. - The scope of application of international humanitarian law and the scope of personal and spatial protection through the identification of protected persons, objects and protected property. - Identifying the violations of international humanitarian law and their legal adaptation and methods of criminalizing violations in national law. - mechanisms for the application of international humanitarian law internationally and nationally.
